The Art of Giving

The Art of Giving
Ever asked yourself why the doors to your life are always closed?why your life lacks happiness? Why you always wallow in sorrows and bitterness all day long?
For how long have we looked at the beggars down the streets with spiteful eyes?
For how long have we wafted our noses solicitizing for fresh air when a beggar passes by us in the busy streets?
For how long have we looked at the beggars mercilessly and passed by them heartlessly, looking at their empty bowls when our purses are stacked with bundles of notes?
How often have we condemned the beggars and passed by them without dropping a mere coin into their bowls??

Then its sheer evident that we have never taken the art of giving into keen consideration!
A sermon has never been this inspirational, with an intriguing flow, so hearty yet touchy, so tear prompting, so heavy and emotional filled, filled with self evaluation, making tears flow freely from the glands, a sermon so persuasive, and making you ask yourself many questions as to why you have not been doing what God expects you to do, giving God what belongs to him, and just developing God’s work.

Not long ago, we will discard all our riches and remain empty
We will throw all the riches that we have been tirelessly working for in the pit.The best architectural designs of our houses, the most expensive designer dresses , we call them Gucci, the house furnishings, the beauty that we have branded ourselves, the cars and even the educational certificates.
In Luke 16:38, the Bible clearly depicts that its only after we’ve given then we shall receive God will bless us more abundantly with blessings overflowing and running over.
We have occasionally asked ourselves many questions, Am i giving much?
As a student for instance, you frequently tell yourself I’m only remaining with 300/= shillings in my account, there’s this harambee in church that i have to chip in, there is tithe i have to commit myself to, there’s this orphan i have to buy clothes for! You tend to question yourself on several occasions, at the very end, you decide to satisfy your self interests and not give a little to God, or serve the community.
We have a lot of worries going round in our minds, if i give to God, how will i replenish my stock? If you are a girl you worried about your pathetic hair, you are worried about the small breaking in your car, about your broken fan, or even your torn doormat. We tend to forget that everything belongs to God, that car is the Lord’s, the house and even the beauty are all God’s, and if God decides to take back what belongs to him, we will remain floating in poverty and despair.
In our lives, we should always strive to put God’s work and projects first, building the house of the Lord, and conserving the church environment should be centre of our key responsibilities.
We should not be on the receiving end always, and not taking an action to give back what we receive
Consequently, when we give whole heartedly, God will reward us with happiness , peace and self fulfillment in our hearts.
Many a times when it comes to our own work that develops us, we put in frantic efforts.A writer for instance, would sacrifice to write a ten paged project, in a given amount of time, because he knows that at the end of the day, he or she will be rewarded for the efforts put in.But when it comes to God’s work, people have occasionally lacked seriousness, thus closing the doors of blessings.
A story is thus told of a young man who is on his way for an early scheduled interview , but on the way, he meets an old woman, who’s car has broken down, he is therefore torn in between helping this old lady, or hurrying for his interview. After a period of battling with his mind, he decided to help the old lady , and forgets that he had an early job interview appointment. After ascertaining that the lady is good to go, he grabs his papers and scuffles off to the interview. He reaches the interview panel to get interview session is over, but fortunately or unfortunately, he’s told to go straight to the boss office to submit his papers, its in the office that he realizes that the lady he’d helped with the car breakdown is the one in charge of the whole company, and definitely, he gets the job.
Therefore, is doubt still there that giving comes along with blessings?
That if we sacrifice a lot in giving , at the end of the day our baskets will be filled with blessings of a kind?
You could do anything, compromise with any other thing but never doubt the art of giving, its a whole quorum of life blessings and happy endings!!
